#20 Finished

What were your favorite discoveries or exercises on this learning journey?

I'm afraid the things I liked at the time I can't really remember how to do now. I did like taking time out and playing.

How has this program assisted or affected your lifelong learning goals?

Can't say they were part of any life long learning goals I had. when I need something I learn how when I need it. 'fraid it doesn't stick if not necessary..I need all the space I got for what I'm involved in.

Were there any take-aways or unexpected outcomes from this program that surprised you?

Well... being exposed to stuff I never knew was out there, but not particularly surprised at anything. It is amazing how time consuming and wasteful it can be.

What could we do differently to improve upon this program’s format or concept? Make it a lot shorter. No blogging. Having to write something profound after doing an exercises is too much. Some people loved this stuff as you can tell from their blogs and must of had tons of time to make their site so pretty, but let them do that if that's what they want and not make us all do it.

If we offered another discovery program like this in the future, would you again chose to participate?

Nuh uh...Thanks anyway. I'd much prefer to pick and choose the parts that look interesting and try them out. I also am much more willing when I don't havtuh. I don't recall anyone using the words " chose to participate"

# 19 Gaming

Well, that was fun. I will have to play some more at home on my own time. I feel way too much guilt and pressure as the work piles up and co-workers glance at my mahjong screen.

Well, that was a lot of fun creating an alter ego. Not sure what I will do with it.

#16 Online application

I have just signed up to use this very tool on Google. It is very handy for an independent research project and a professor that is out of the area. We can manage all of our files and deadlines online. It is a great tool.

#18 Google Earth

Wow I love this! I have used Google earth many times before, but not for a long time. It certainly has improved and many areas that were not covered by satellite before are available now.

#15 Search engines

The general consensus is that Google rocks. I have to agree. It was interesting to compare the three, but I too am satisfied with Google and will use the others, when doing a research project, just to see if I have missed anything.

#14 Podcasting

I have been watching pod casts for quiet some time now. My top three are the University of Washington, Stevens Pass ski conditions and then of course miscellaneous ones like the following. Your tax dollar at work. Committee decisions we are all familiar with. Enjoy!

This I Can Use

I had a nice post and did something (or didn't) and it didn't save. I won't try to repeat. Just know I did the exercise.

Tag Your It

This is a feature I think I will really use. I am doing a huge research report and will have so many sites to tag. It will be very useful.

Wiki Wow?

I have used Wiki many times but had no idea there were so many choices. One of my favorites is Wiki How. Can't say I will ever want to generate one, however.

TV Again

That's fantastic! I don't have TV and now I can look and see what everyone is talking about from time to time. I don't know that it will help with Library service, but what fun.

Keepin' Up With the Kid

I have used facebook for a while, now. I get to meet all my sons friends. So far, he won't let me be his friend! Can you imagine??

Keep your head up and your eyes open.

Arizona Breathing

I did indeed have my Grand Canyon picture. I have to say this process was way to complicated and time consuming. I have had excellent success with Google photos and is SO much simpler.

Pandora No Kidding

Another one down. Hardly seems like work with my favorite music playing in the background. See yuh on the blogway next week.

Moving On Up

Well, I'm moving right along. I have IM'd and am curious about the phone options. I wonder if this would be a free way to have conversations long distance. Do you need any special devices?

RSS is an interesting concept. I do a similar thing on my regular Gmail account. This might help me with school, as well.

Slow Catchup

Wow, it's overwhelming after vacation and thinking I'll have a free minute but that minute never comes. I'm a slow learner and need way more than a minute.

Just back from England

What a fantastic week on the Yorkshire Moors. The heather and ferns aren't in bloom, yet but daffodiles and crocuses abound. In fact it snowed the day we landed in Manchester! Visited the Brontes and warmed up in the local pubs. Yes, dogs are allowed inside. They don't even have to be well behaved.
